CEO Richael Young joins an expert panel at the 2020 Sustainable Ag Summit hosted by Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture, National Pork Board, Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy, U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, and Stewardship Index for Specialty Crops.
Richael will be in Tuesday’s breakout session, “Fostering Agricultural Resilience Through Knowledge Co-Development.” Richael discusses the importance of leveraging local needs and institutions with science and technology for water management. She will be drawing from a decade of experience working at the local level with a variety of stakeholders to create customized solutions to water management challenges. In particular, she has worked with farmers and water managers to understand local pain points and needs for water markets and trading programs. These insights led to the creation of the first-ever smart markets for water in the United States. She also has worked with water managers and farmers to understand water accounting challenges and how to improve regulatory compliance metrics, which ultimately led to the development and implementation of TAPP H2O, a software service for water monitoring. The value of these tools was a combination of leveraging data and technology with unique local needs.
